Notes for the Sixth Sunday of the Resurrection/ Mother’s Day  05/13/2012


First Notes: To be read after Rite

Let us pray and plead to God, the Lord, for all the children of the church, especially the Sick And the Neediest. For Peace in Iraq and throughout the world, and for the Perpetual Intentions of our beloved deceased as listed:

  • Harbee Jaboro - Died in Syria

  • Younis Shattah - Died in Karkook

  • Marosha Qocho - Died in Telkef

  • Wadih Jiddo - Died in Detroit

  • Jarjees Barno - In memory of 40th


Sunday Services:

  1. Harbee Jaboro - In memory of 7th from his children Bashar and Bassam and Ayad at St. Michael’s Hall from 1:00 - 5:00pm.

  2. Younis Shattah - In memory of 7th from his sisters Basima and Suad at St. Michael’s Hall from 5:00 - 8:00pm.


  1. This Saturday at 6:00pm., we will celebrate the wedding of:
    Joseph Tomina & Meriam Jadan

  2. This Sunday at 6:00pm., we will celebrate the wedding of:
    Demes Odish & Noor Jameel

  3. Next Sunday at 6:00pm., we will celebrate the wedding of:
    Omar Shamashta & Hanan Basaka


Sunday Notes:

  1. 1. This Sunday is Mother’s Day. We offer our prayers to God to protect all mothers and have mercy on the ones who departed from among us.

  2. Next Tuesday is the Memorial of Our Lady of the Fields. Also, is the Festival of Mar Athqen and Sultan Mahdakht. Mass will be at 4:00pm as usual

  3. Next Thursday is the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord. Mass will be at 4 pm as usual.

  4. This Thursday Bible Study for adults will resume from 7:00 - 9:00pm.

  5. Please join Chaldean Community Network for their Wine and Cheese fundraiser next Friday 7:30 -11:00pm at St. Peter’s Hall. Proceeds to benefit refugee children. Tickets are only $30 sold outside. Thank you for your support.

  6. St. Peter Cathedral will start Aramaic classes for beginners for 6 weeks. Class will meet Every Tuesday from 6:00 - 8:00pm at the Educational Center. It is open for all ages.

  7. St. Peter Diocese is holding its 5th Biannual Youth Convention for ages 15-30 on July 19 -22; it will take place in San Diego. Registration forms are available outside.

  8. St. Peter Knights of Columbus is hosting its Annual Graduation Party on June 22, 2012 For all High School and College graduates at the cathedral’s Hall. Please sign your Year Book and Scholarship Application online at: martomacouncil.org, and are due on June 1st. Please see flyers outside.

  9. There will be no distribution of mattresses this week. Please continue with your donations. Baskets are available outside.
