Statement from Chaldean Catholic Diocese of St. Peter the Apostle

In response to the words of our Lord Jesus Christ saying “truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me” (Matt 25:40) and because of the generosity of all the merciful and righteous people and for answering the call of our father, Patriarch Mar Louis Rafael I Sako, for the reconstruction of the Chaldean towns and villages in Nineveh (Al Mousel). The faithful of Saint Peter’s Diocese of western United States want to share in the rebuilding of our stricken towns. Donations will be accepted starting Sunday February 5, 2017 and through the three lent days (Bautha). Receipts will be given to all donors of $500 or more, all other donors of smaller amounts will be given receipts upon request. This donation drive will be open until further notice.

A committee has been appointed to organize, monitor and attend to this very important project. We ask every Parish Priest to appoint a donation committee to collect from the generous faithful. The Parishes will send all donations to the Diocese Headquarters in San Diego. The Diocese committee will compile each parish’s donations. The Diocese committee will send all donations to our brothers in Iraq. Each parish will have its own donations sent reflecting the Parish's name.

We want all donations to be compatible and parallel to the severity of past events and carry a sense of responsibility. We trust your generosity and God’s reward will be hundred, sixty and thirty folds. May God blessings be upon you and your families and may our mother Mary keep you under her protection. .
