A new Youth Group Born in Our Diocese

St. Barbara Youth Group - NV

On Sunday, September 17, 2006 Fr. Felix Shabi held a meeting with some Chaldean youth of St. Barbara Mission, in the city of Las Vegas, NV.  Mr. Bassam Mikha, the President of St. Barbara Mission Council, attended the meeting and prepared for it in order to direct the group in the absence of the priest. 

Fr. Felix raised a few questions for discussion for the youth to prepare and encourage them to understand some words and terms related to the church life.

Fr. Felix focused a few times on the concept of the church being the “People of God” more than just a “building”.  The youth were happy and satisfied about this meeting. The meeting lasted for more than one hour. Before the meeting ended, the youth agreed on their group to be known as “St. Barbara Youth Group” (SBYG).
